ABOUT ME
-Joe Dowick, MSW, LICSW - I received a Master’s Degree in Social Work
from Boston University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Social Work at Salve Regina University. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social
Worker who has experience in both group and individual modalities of
treatment.
-My work experience includes working with children and adolescents in a school setting. I am currently licensed as both an adjustment counselor and guidance counselor.
-I have facilitated Intensive Outpatient Program groups, as well as
aftercare groups for those afflicted with substance abuse issues. Have worked at local agencies specializing in both mental health and
substance abuse issues. As an outpatient clinician I have worked with clients who were transitioning back into the
community. Also with clients who were placed back into the
community yet continued treatment to assist with the adjustment of
reintegrating into society. Prior to entering into private practice I
was a Director for a Partial Hospital and Day Treatment facility
working with those afflicted with chronic mental illness.
-I have a well rounded clinical background having worked with people from all age groups.
-Previously served on the Social Work Department Advisory Council at Salve Regina University and the Area Board for Department of Children and Families and served on the Board of Directors for AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod.
-Previously taught graduate level courses at a local university.
-As a clinician, I thrive to work with individuals to overcome life
issues and to achieve their goals.
